What's new
in Strawberry
Split tabs are here, work across two pages side by side without leaving your window. We also rebuilt the address bar from the ground up, made your companion smarter about handling complex tasks, and gave tab groups a visual refresh. A lot of polish in this one.
Split Tabs
The big one. You can now view two pages side by side in a single window, hover a tab and click the split icon, or right-click → Split tab. Reference a doc while writing an email, watch your companion work while you keep browsing. It just works.
Companions are much better at Sheets & Excel

Your companion can now work directly with Excel files and Google Sheets. Describe what you need, analyze data, update rows, build formulas, and it writes and runs the code for you. It reads your spreadsheet, generates Python behind the scenes, and applies the changes.
Tab Groups, Refreshed
Tab groups got a visual upgrade. Each group now shows a preview of its tab icons, so you can tell what's inside without expanding it.
Address Bar Overhaul
The address bar got a ground-up polish. Autocomplete suggestions are smarter and show up faster, selecting and editing URLs feels more intuitive, and keyboard navigation works the way you'd expect. Small details, like your text being preserved when you click away and come back, make the whole thing feel more reliable.
Improvements and Bug Fixes
- Sidebar Links: Links from your companion now open in your active tab when on the same domain. Hover any link to preview the full URL before clicking.
- Smarter Companion: Your companion is better at running steps in parallel, you can rerun individual tool calls that didn't go right, and skills now filter by companion and load faster.
- Streaming & Performance: Improved how agent progress updates are streamed to the UI, status changes are now faster and more reliable.
- Companion Selector: Create a new companion directly from the dropdown. Fixed shared chats overriding your active companion and the companion resetting when switching tabs.
- Per-Tab Dialogs: Alert and confirmation popups now anchor to the tab that triggered them instead of blocking the whole window.
- History Navigation: Move through your chat history using keyboard arrow keys and enter.
- File Deeplinking: Clicking "view file" in a memorize block now jumps directly to the file.
- Google Docs: Fixed edge cases where headings and lists could break during export.
- Bookmarking: Bookmarking from the tab hover preview no longer yanks you away from what you're viewing.
- Fixed navigating between collapsed tab groups, tabs could get stuck cycling inside a group.
- Fixed login issues on macOS when signing in through Google or SSO.
- Fixed being able to accidentally send a message while your companion is still mid-task.
