Cookies used for desktop onboarding
Strictly necessary authentication handoff
When the Strawberry app asks you to sign in in your default browser, we use a secure, HttpOnly cookie to keep that browser handoff connected to the app. It contains only a random selector, cannot sign you in by itself, and expires after 15 minutes. This cookie is necessary to complete authentication, so it does not depend on marketing consent.
Marketing download attribution
If you accept marketing cookies and select a download, we store a random selector in a secure, HttpOnly cookie. It lets us connect that browser's latest consented download with the first successful desktop onboarding. The server-side record may include the landing and referring website origins, encrypted allowlisted campaign and advertising click parameters, download source, platform, consent version, and time. Unlinked records expire after 90 days. We do not create this record before you opt in.
Invites and companion hiring
When you intentionally open a Strawberry invite link or select Hire on a public companion profile, secure HttpOnly cookies remember the invite code and companion identifier needed to carry that action through download and sign-in. The latest link replaces the previous one, the cookies expire after no more than 30 days, and they cannot sign you in. After a verified sign-in, Strawberry uses the invite to determine eligibility for referral credits and uses the companion identifier to open the hiring review. These cookies are necessary to complete the invite or hiring action you requested and do not depend on marketing consent.
Withdrawing consent
You can change your choice at any time through "Cookie settings" in the page footer. Withdrawing marketing consent clears the selector cookie and deletes its pending or linked download attribution. If you are signed in, it also deletes attribution linked to your account in another browser. The minimal authentication handoff continues because it is necessary to sign the app in. Invite and companion-hiring handoffs also continue when you explicitly open those links because they are needed to complete the action you requested.
We collect the following types of information when you use the service
1.1. Account Information
When you create an account, we may collect:
- Basic account details, such as your name, email address, and profile picture (if provided).
- Credentials for third-party integrations you choose to connect (e.g., Google, GitHub).
- Subscription plan details and usage history (e.g., AI feature usage and associated costs).

1.2. Usage Data
We collect data about how you interact with the Service to improve its functionality, including:
- Usage of AI features (e.g., frequency and type of AI tasks performed).
- Browsing metadata (e.g., timestamps, interactions) usually excludes specific AI content.
- Technical info like IP address, browser type, OS, and device.
1.3. Local Data
Most of your browsing activity and data processed within the browser remains local to your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless necessary to provide the Service (e.g., for AI feature processing or third-party integrations).
1.4. Third-Party Authentication and Integrations
If you log in using third-party authentication services (e.g., Google, GitHub) or connect third-party tools (e.g., Google, Airtable, Notion, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini), we may collect limited information from those services as permitted by their terms and your privacy settings. For example, we may access your name, email address, or profile information.
1.4.1 Google Workspace API Data
When you connect Google Workspace to our Service, we access your basic account information (e.g., email, profile details) and workspace content (e.g., documents and spreadsheets). This data remains stored locally on your device and is not stored on our servers. We may transmit this data to third-party services (such as AI providers) only when necessary for core browser functionality. We do not use any data obtained through Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) models.
1.5. Feedback and Communications
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or contact us (e.g., via [email protected]), we may collect the information you share, including your contact details and the content of your communication.
We use the information we collect to
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including its AI features and integrations.
- Process your account registration, authenticate your access, and manage your subscription plan.
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns to enhance functionality and user experience.

Local storage
Most of your browsing activity and data processed by the Service remains on your device, reducing the amount of data stored on our servers.

Retention

Do not track
The Service does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals, as there is no universal standard for such signals.
