Strawberry Zapier Agents

The site with no connector is just another tab

A companion opens the county recorder’s search page, the wholesaler’s order portal or the internal tool from 2019, reads the page and hands back the rows with a link on each. Zapier Agents run in Zapier’s cloud on 9,000+ apps.

Strawberry has no connector list. Point a companion at the wholesaler’s portal and it checks stock on all 40 SKUs, flags anything under ten units and writes the list. 93 native integrations carrying 1,257 hand-written operations cover the tools that do have connectors.

It is an agentic browser for macOS and Windows, where a companion drives real tabs in your own logged-in session and stops for approval before anything consequential.

Zapier holds the other side of that line: 9,000+ apps as of this writing, two decades of other people’s flaky APIs absorbed, and Agents putting a plain-language layer on top. Agents bill in their own currency. Activities are counted separately from Zap tasks, with 400 free a month and 1,500 on Pro as of this writing, and Zapier’s own list counts a web search or a browsing step as an activity.

What is an activity, and why does it matter?

It is Zapier’s unit of agent work, and their definition is literal: “using a trigger, answering from a knowledge source, running an action, web browsing or scraping, a web search, or a message sent via the Chrome extension.” Budgeting an agent is a separate exercise from budgeting your Zaps.

Strawberry meters in credits, free to start with paid plans from $20/month. Run a real week before you commit to a tier, on either side.

Where does a connector-shaped agent stop?

At the site with no connector and no API worth using.

9,000 apps is still a list: the county recorder’s search page is not on it, and neither is the internal tool your ops team built in 2019.

A companion has no list. It works whatever you can open and sign into: bulk updates in web apps, extracting tables from websites, the same form filled across six sites that share no schema.

Sort your work by whether it needs a login

Most teams have both kinds of work.

  • Read the 60 rows, open each company’s careers page, decide whether they are hiring, write the answer next to the row: a companion, because half those steps involve looking at a page nobody modelled.
  • Chase the eleven overdue invoices in a portal with no API: a companion, because the portal is the system of record and it has never heard of webhooks.
  • New form response creates a CRM contact and posts to a channel: connector work, and Zapier has done it for years.
  • Nightly sync between two databases with retries and a log: connector work again.

Who is watching when it acts?

A companion acts in front of you. The tab is open, you can watch the click, and consequential steps pause on an approval card that names the action first. Ask Always mode in Settings → AI permissions widens that to everything, and the model is at /security.

Zapier’s agents run in Zapier’s cloud through connections you authorized, and you read the run history afterwards.

What each one actually reaches

Strawberry brings 93 native integrations carrying 1,257 hand-written operations, 1,975 further apps connectable as accounts with 11,417 actions between them, and the logged-in session for whatever is in neither list. Routines run on your own machine, and Keep Awake holds the Mac or PC awake so an overnight pass finishes with the lid closed.

Zapier maintains 9,000 connectors and a support organisation, and it is already plumbed into automation your team depends on.

Their activity list includes web browsing and scraping, so they touch the web, and each step is metered. What they do not have is your session. Anything behind your login is where an agentic browser starts.
