How does the free-slot search work?

You give it the attendees, a time range and how long the meeting needs to be.

It returns concrete open windows rather than a wall of busy blocks, with buffers before and after so a 30-minute call does not land against the edge of another one, and granularity from five minutes up.

Booking is the second call: subject, attendees marked required or optional, a Teams link generated on creation, reminders, and how the event shows on your calendar. It stops on an approval card with the exact time and guest list before any invitation goes out.

Recurring events and invite responses

A companion finds series masters, lists the concrete instances in a range, and scopes an update to this instance, the entire series, or this-and-following. That scope decides whether you moved one Tuesday standup or all of them forever.

Responding is its own action: accept, tentative or decline, with an optional comment and a proposed new time attached. So the counter-offer, 3 does not work but 4:30 does, is one gated call instead of a hand-typed reply.

What are the edges of the surface?

A companion works in any calendar on the account, including a shared or delegated mailbox by address. Event attachments cap at 3 MB, so the board deck travels as a link. Mail is the separate Outlook integration, its own connection.

The mailbox-settings read earns its place: locale, time zone and working hours, which is how a companion knows not to propose 7 a.m. to a colleague in another office. On a routine, Friday becomes one pass: scan next week, flag the conflicts, draft the reshuffles, then the follow-ups.

Send the invite with the agenda already written

For anyone whose calendar your account can see, a companion books the slot and writes the agenda into the event description, assembled from the thread it just read. That is a meeting with context instead of a title and a time. Deleting or cancelling an event is flagged destructive, so calendar cleanup never proceeds silently.

When the guest is external, a booking page carries the scheduling, and both Calendly and Cal.com are native integrations in their own right, so a companion runs those too.
