A companion reads all three event types and sixty bookings in one pass, hands back what is wrong with a proposed fix against each, and books or moves meetings on your say-so.

The intro-call event type was set up in a hurry and never revisited. Thirty minutes for a call that runs twenty, a video link the team stopped using in March, a description naming a product tier that no longer exists. Sixty people have booked through it.

A companion reads every event type and hands back the list of what is wrong, with an edit proposed against each one. It also reads schedules and availability, lists bookings by status, and creates, reschedules and cancels bookings. The write half stops for your approval.

Get the list of event types that went stale

Point a companion at your event types and it reads all of them: durations, slugs, descriptions, the location objects that decide where the meeting happens. What comes back is a list of specifics: the thirty-minute slot that always overruns, the two near-identical names splitting your bookings, the location pointing somewhere retired.

Then it proposes the edits one at a time, each on an approval card. An event type is a public promise, and a silent duration change would break the bookings already made against it. Deletion sits on the same gate and is permanent.

Can a companion actually book a meeting?

Yes.

It reads the open slots for an event type across a window you name, then creates the booking with an attendee name, email and timezone. "Find the first slot after Tuesday that suits a Berlin timezone and book Anna in" happens without anyone opening a booking page.

A booking here carries one attendee: a name and an email address, plus an optional timezone and language. For a one-to-one intro call that is the whole job. A five-person workshop goes through the booking page.

  • "What is open for a thirty-minute call in the next ten working days, in the customer's timezone?"
  • "Book the follow-up for the same time next week and put the reason in the reschedule note."

What happens to a booking that gets moved?

Rescheduling takes a new start time and an optional reason, and the moved booking comes back with a new identifier. If you log booking references anywhere else, a companion writes the new one back so your records stay true.

Cancellation carries a reason too, and it waits for your click because it rearranges somebody’s afternoon. The noticing is where a companion earns its place: the two bookings that clash with a flight, the discovery calls never confirmed, the recurring slot with the customer who churned last month. It hands you the list and you decide who gets the email.

Run the weekly tidy-up on a schedule

Reading who booked and deciding what to do about it. Keeping event types honest. Turning "the week looks wrong" into a specific list of changes with a reason against each. Teams run this weekly as an operations routine that no longer needs a human to start it, the same way meeting research feeds sales prospecting.

Cal.com keeps firing its reminders and follow-ups server-side on schedule, and round-robin, routing forms and the availability logic stay where they are. A companion sits on top and does the reading.
