Monitor job boards and get a short list, not a feed

Every morning at 7:30: the boards and eighteen company careers pages swept in your own browser, cross-posts collapsed into one row, and three real matches with a one-line reason each.

Serious job searching is monitoring work: six to ten boards plus a dozen company careers pages, checked daily, because good roles close fast. Done properly that is thirty to forty-five minutes a day, most of it re-reading postings you already rejected. Done casually, it means missing the Tuesday posting that closed Friday.

Board alerts are built to maximize sends. They cannot dedupe across boards, cannot apply criteria like "staff level, remote-first, no agencies, salary stated", and never see the fifteen companies you actually want. A companion browses all of them the way you do, in your own signed-in browser, where the full postings live.

How does a sweep beat saved-search alerts?

Three ways.

The same role posted on four boards arrives as one entry rather than four emails. A companion reads the full posting, so "must state salary, must not be a staffing agency, must be genuinely remote" become enforceable filters. And company careers pages, where roles often appear days before the boards, are just more pages to visit.

The output is a running sheet: role, company, source links, posted date, a match score against your written criteria, and a one-line reason. New rows on top each morning. Same mechanics as monitoring any site for changes, on a schedule.

Criteria, written once: senior or staff product designer, remote in EU time zones, B2B product, salary listed, no agencies. Sources: two big boards, one design-specific board, and eighteen target companies’ careers pages. The routine runs at 7:30 each morning.

A typical day: forty-one new postings seen, thirty-two rejected against criteria with reasons logged, six duplicates collapsed, three genuine candidates added to the sheet, one of them from a careers page not yet on any board. Reviewing three rows takes four minutes. The manual version of the same coverage was forty minutes, and attention decays by board number four.

What is the score for?

Sorting the queue so your reading time lands on the top fifteen.

Postings embellish, and "remote" sometimes means hybrid, so the score points you at what to read. The sweep reads each board at the volume and pace of a signed-in person, inside its terms, which keeps the accounts you rely on healthy.

The tailoring and the outreach are where the interviews come from, and now you start them at nine instead of at ten. The recruiter-side mirror is posting jobs across boards and turning a job description into a sourcing plan.
