Every video with its privacy setting, in one list

Four hundred videos read in one pass. It reliably turns up four or five more public than anyone intended, plus the ninety still called "Untitled".

A Vimeo account used by a marketing team for three years contains a specific kind of mess. Webinar recordings with the Zoom filename still attached. Two versions of the product tour, one embedded somewhere nobody can find. A customer testimonial marked public that was supposed to be password-protected.

One pass produces the whole list: every video with its privacy state, its embed permission, and whether anyone has ever played it. A companion runs that through an account you connect, across all four hundred.

What does the privacy audit find?

Videos whose privacy setting does not match what anybody intended.

Somebody uploads a rough cut as unlisted, somebody else makes it public to share a link quickly, and it stays public for two years. Listing every video with its privacy state and embed permission takes one pass and produces four or five genuine surprises.

The same read gives you the tidying list: default titles, missing descriptions, no thumbnail set, videos with zero plays since upload. None of it is urgent and all of it is embarrassing when a customer finds it.

Find where each video is actually embedded

Vimeo tells you a video has 1,200 plays.

It does not tell you which page they came from, and the page is what you need before deleting anything. A companion searches your site, your help centre and your campaign pages for the video id and comes back with the list.

That turns a nervous cleanup into a safe one. It is marketing housekeeping rather than video work, and the same pass feeds content calendar upkeep if the library doubles as a content archive.

  • Every video with its privacy setting and embed permission, in one list.
  • Default titles, empty descriptions and zero-play uploads.
  • Where each video is embedded, found by searching your own pages.
  • Deletion treated as permanent, because it is.

What about uploads and edits?

Whether a companion can upload, retitle or change privacy depends on the Available tools list on the Vimeo entry under `strawberry://settings/integrations`, which names every tool and marks the read-only ones. Check it before planning a bulk retitle.

Where write actions are present, bulk metadata edits are the good use. A deleted Vimeo video takes its embeds with it and every page that referenced it shows an empty player, so switch that action off and do deletions by hand after the embed check. Housekeeping at this scale suits ai for marketers.
