Thirty-four CVs read, nine shortlisted, reasons attached

A Strawberry companion does the tab work in the accounts you already own and stops for approval before anything irreversible. Ask, read, copy, switch tab, paste, fix, repeat is the loop it replaces.

One instruction replaces the loop. “Open the 34 candidates in my ATS shortlist, read each CV, and tell me which nine actually match the seniority we wrote in the JD” comes back as nine names, each with the line from the CV that earned it, and every rejection carrying a reason. Nothing is written to a record until you click.

Strawberry is an agentic browser for macOS and Windows. Companions work the tabs you already have signed in, with 93 native integrations carrying 1,257 hand-written operations, 1,975 further apps connectable as accounts, and the logged-in session for anything with neither. The structural head-to-head is at Strawberry vs. ChatGPT.

ChatGPT can reach a browser as of this writing, through a built-in profile its own docs say does not share your existing tabs or session, and a Chrome extension that does use your real profile. What you want replaced is what comes after the answer: six systems, typed by hand. A companion takes that.

Where the finished job landsFiles in the conversation; its docs note web tasks “can’t work directly in a folder on your computer”Rows in your sheet, updates on your records, drafts in your outbox, and generated images or video in the chat workspace
Approval before a consequential actionIt “may also ask for permission before taking sensitive or disruptive actions”, per its computer-use docsA card in front of every send, record change and payment, and Ask Always mode extends the pause to everything

What are you actually trying to replace?

Three different searches share this phrase. Pick yours.

  • A better chat window: a companion has one, with Fast mode for a quick pass and Smart mode when the answer has to be right.
  • Something that keeps going while the lid is shut: turn on Keep Awake and a routine finishes the run. The cloud version is compared at cloud browser agents vs local agentic browsers.
  • Something that stops handing tasks back to you halfway: that is the rest of this page.

What a companion does that a prompt cannot

A prompt returns text.

A companion opens the tab, reads what your account can read, fills the field, and stops at the moment a person should look.

The gap shows on the boring jobs. Sixty records checked against sixty websites is four hours of clicking and no reasoning problem at all, which is why the "last contacted" field in most CRMs lies. A companion takes all sixty in one pass.

Common tools connect as accounts you authorize rather than pages to be driven, which matters when the tool is Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Notion, Salesforce or Apollo. Everything else works through the signed-in site, which is how the ATS nobody has an API for gets handled.

Does it need to watch my screen?

No. It drives the browser it lives in, so there is no screen recording, no accessibility permission and no desktop capture. The tabs are the interface, which is also why the audit trail is legible: watch the run, read the staged changes, reject the ones that look wrong. The full model is at /security, and finished runs are at /real-runs.

Install it free and hand over one task

Installing costs nothing and AI credits are included, with paid plans starting at $20/month. Pick the task you hate most, hand it over once, and judge it on that rather than on a demo. Our test method is public at /benchmarks/spec and is being rebuilt so an outsider can run it.
