Connect Slack to Strawberry
Search and read the Slack conversations you can access, then review and send messages from your connected account.
Install and connect
Slack is installed and authorized from the Strawberry desktop app. It is not connected from the web account page.
- Install Strawberry.
- Open Slack in Strawberry, then click Connect or Add Account.
- Choose the capabilities you want and review Slack's authorization screen.
- Approve access with the Slack account and workspace you want Strawberry to use.
An administrator may need to approve the app first. You can disconnect or update access from the same Slack app page in Strawberry.
How it works
Open a companion in Strawberry and ask it to find a message, summarize a conversation, draft a reply, or send a message. Strawberry uses your connected Slack access for that request.
Nothing posts automatically, and the Slack app does not respond to messages on its own. A message is sent only when you ask Strawberry to send it and your Slack permission allows the action.
How access is used
Strawberry acts as your connected Slack user. It requests read access for search, conversation discovery, selected channel or thread reads, people, files, and reactions. Write access is used only for the Slack action you ask Strawberry to perform, such as sending a reviewed message or adding a reaction.
Message search returns at most 20 matches and searches 30 days by default. You can request older history that your Slack workspace makes available. Channel and thread reads return at most 100 messages per request. Strawberry queues only unusually large bursts above 100 concurrent Slack content retrievals per connected account.
Review before sending
When confirmation is required, it shows the destination, content, attachments, and attribution before the Send button posts anything. You can ask every time, always allow Slack sends after the first approval, or disable the action. Sent messages include “Sent with @Strawberry,” linked to the installed app.
Strawberry uses AI and may generate inaccurate or incomplete responses. Review messages and check important facts before you act or send.
Support
Reconnect Slack from the Slack app page in Strawberry if Strawberry says an action needs more access.
