Automate your Sentry triage with an AI agent

Monday at 09:10, forty new issues have been read and grouped into four decisions, and the three real ones are already drafted as tickets in the tracker you plan in.

Forty new issues since Friday. Thirty-one are the same missing null check surfacing on three releases and two browsers, five are noise from a bot hammering a deprecated endpoint, three are real and one of those is serious.

Sorting them takes forty minutes of pure reading. A companion opens all forty, reads sample events, compares stack frames rather than titles, and hands you a brief instead of a list.

The 09:10 pass, done before you sit down

A companion runs the query you would run, then does the part you would skip: it opens the issues, reads sample events, and compares stack frames. Titles lie about grouping, the same fault renders differently across releases, and the frames do not.

The thirty-one come back as one fault, with the releases it appears in and the first that contains it. The five bot-driven ones arrive proposed as ignored, with a reason. The three real ones get the frame that matters, the event count, and whether the rate is climbing.

How does an error become a ticket somebody fixes?

A companion reads the issue and a representative event, then writes the ticket in the tracker you plan in. Linear, Jira and GitLab are all native integrations, so the ticket carries the stack frame, the affected release, the event count and a link back to the Sentry issue.

It searches that tracker first, which is the difference between triage that shrinks the queue and triage that duplicates it. Moving structured work between systems without retyping it is the data extraction habit applied to errors.

Why was that request slow?

Give a companion a trace ID and it fetches the waterfall, walks the spans, and reports where the time went and which service owns that span. It reads what you would read, and it does not get bored on span 140.

Pair it with the release list and the shape of a regression shows up: the span that got slower, the release it got slower in.

Run the triage pass every Monday

Save the pass as a routine and Monday morning starts with the brief already written. The same pattern as the operations reporting workflows, pointed at reliability instead of revenue.

Sentry’s own triage, as of this writing, acts on fingerprint grouping, historical occurrences and the alert and ownership rules inside the product. The pass above is the one that ends with tickets in your tracker.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Sentry is a native integration. A companion lists organizations, projects, teams and releases, queries issues with Sentry’s own filter syntax, reads issues, events and trace waterfalls, and resolves, ignores or assigns issues with your approval.
