A companion searches your Drive with real query operators, reads the sharing state on every result, and comes back with the table. Then it files them where you say.
Nine files in the client folder are called some version of final. Two are called FINAL_v2. The one everybody uses is called Untitled document. You spent Tuesday morning opening them and the folder is no tidier.
A companion opens all of them. It searches with the same query operators the API takes (name, MIME type, modified date, folder scope, custom properties) across My Drive and shared drives, reports what it found, then builds the new folder tree and moves the files into it once you approve the plan.

Find every file and who can see it
One instruction: find every PDF in this folder tree modified before January, list who each one is shared with, and tell me which have links open to anyone. It runs that as a real query rather than guessing at names, reads the sharing state on each result, and returns the table.
Then the tidying. A new folder tree, the files moved into it, the two duplicates copied into an archive, proposed as a plan before anything moves. Forty files landing in the wrong place is tedious to unwind by hand, so it gets a gate.
What can a companion move, copy and share?
The read half is a search engine you talk to: list and filter files, find a file or a folder by name, check the storage quota and which export formats are supported. The write half is short enough to enumerate.
- Create a tree of nested folders in a single operation, from an optional parent.
- Copy a file, optionally landing the copy in a different folder.
- Move a file by changing its parent folders.
- Grant a role to a user, group, domain or anyone with the link.
- Patch an existing permission: change a role, without re-granting access.

Where do the limits sit?
Uploads are capped at 5 MB and the file has to be in the chat already: you attach it, then ask for it to land in a folder. Drive is a good destination for a generated summary or a small CSV.
The surface covers search, folder trees, copies, moves, permissions and exports. A companion reorganises a Drive it has access to, and no delete or trash tool exists here to empty one. Granting anyone-with-the-link access is the change worth reading before you approve it, and it is always shown to you first.
Export forty Docs to PDF and file them, monthly
Find them, export each to PDF, drop them in a dated folder, share it read-only with the auditor, record what you did in a sheet. The same pass runs again on the first of the month as a routine. That is the shape of any data extraction job, and it pairs with Google Sheets when the answer is a table rather than a file.
Close the lid once it is running. Keep Awake holds the run open until the last file is filed and the sheet is updated.
